General Information
- 101 sites were attempted with 97 successful connections (96%).
No assumptions were made over the potential contents of the 4 failed
sites even if paper evidence existed (ie. newsletter).
- There were 4 sites which provided links to established Gopher sites.
While there is great utility in a well maintained Gopher service, these
sites were not considered for purposes of this survey. This left 93
sites in the sample.
- Most of the sites accessed from the list were academic (88%).
There were
